Looks very ugly to me.

1.  Intel should not be testing for processor conformance when you tell it to
target a specific CPU.  That's the whole purpose of telling it the target
architecture to begin with.  That is wasting processor cycles.

2.  This is still 32 bit code, not using the AMD64's additional registers, so it
is a less-than-optimal executable, until Microsoft releases the AMD64 version of
their compiler (or you run linux and use the AMD64 gcc which does well).
