In my other posts I tested S8 Aggressive against most
other top engines, and its only lost was against
CT 15 Gambit, a testament to Tiger.
This time I used S8 Default (Intelligent) and a different
book....5 moves.ctg...same as Kurt is using. Why?
First I found the tested book (2700draw.ctg) took the engines
too deeply into unfavorable opnings i.e. after 26 moves
from book, Engine A has +2.00 over Engine B.Although alternate
colors were played of the same opening I didn't feel this was fair.
5moves.ctg doesn't allow this, and IMHO is better for these engine
matches, the engines are on their own sooner. Blah, Blah
So original results were:
Shredder 8 Agg vs Chess Tiger 15 Gambit
123456789012345678901234567890
1 Chess Tiger 15 00010101110100½1½1½½1½111½01½1 17.5/30
2 Shredder 8 11101010001011½0½0½½0½000½10½0 12.5/30
Current results:
S8 Default vs CT 15 Gambit 5ctg 3'
123456789012345678901234567890
1 Shredder 8 111111101111111111111011111111 28.0/30
2 Chess Tiger 15.0 000000010000000000000100000000 2.0/30
An amazing result, so therefore based on MY testing of these
it MAY be safe to conclude that S8 Default is stronger than
S8 Aggressive vs Chess Tiger 15 Gambit on my machine. Further testing would be
required to determine if this translates into even higher winning percentages
vs all engines from previous rounds.
