For a bit of fun I ran the marathon test within shredder 8 chessbase gui. I tested the native chessbase engine shredder 8 and the uci engine modified to shredder 8 gambit settings. The marathon test consists of 210 positions. I used the parameters 60 seconds max for each position with 1 extra ply. Computer Athlon 2400xp 1 gb ram. 256 mb hash for each engine. Test for each engine takes about 75 mins approx. The result was shown as : Shredder 8 181/210 for 86% shredder 8 gambit 183/210 for 87% The strange thing is that were only 29 medals. 20 positions that both engines failed within 1 minute 9 positions that shredder gambit solved and shredder 8 failed within 1 minute. Therefore I think the score for shredder 8 is correct, however it looks as though the score for shredder 8 gambit may be 190/210 for 90% however. Here is one of the positions that is given as RH1-+ Solved by shredder 8 gambit in just over 9 seconds which was not solved by shredder 8 in 1 minute.
