Did you set the F4 book options to "normal," as recommended for the 5moves.ctg? Actually this is really crucial when using the 5moves.ctg, because with "optimal", B90 Sicilian Najdorf would be played nearly always, with many 100% probabilies in between during the 10 plies. This is a result of the learning from 30.000 computer games. But with "normal," there should be good variety. You can check it easily choosing the book tab in the notation window. For example, 1.d4 has 34.8% then, or in the sicilian the dragon (5...g6 instead of 5...a6) has 42.6%. Unfortunately after 1.e4, 1...5 still has only 15.7%, but later there are good chances to see the scotch or italian (i guess more than with the usual opening book and "optimal") If you have played many games using that book with "optimal", I'm afraid it was virtually a "thematic" Sicilian Najdorf tournament :-)) That was not my intention. Unfortunately, .CTG trees cannot save the (recommended) F4 option settings with the book data. Btw. the Arena mainbooks have that feature, saving the book options with the book (the user can still cange it as desired). Useful. Regards, Mike Scheidl
