Paul, I'm afraid you didn't understand what I am trying to do.  I know how to
create opening books from a database of games [or lines].  I do that all the
time.

What I wish to do is the reverse of that process.

Given an opening book, I wish to produce a corresponding database of lines.  The
desired database of lines should be such that making an opening book from it
would result in the original book.

Have you done that?

P.S.  It's a pity that Steve Lopez is no longer doing technical support work.
However, this forum should include someone well versed in this subject.
