that isn't the problem here.  f4 is not a choice in the default book on my ftp
machine, which is what caused me to raise the question initially.

But you are correct about the "computer" issue.  I don't see a way to tell
crafty which way to go as many use it as a personal opponent, many use it to
play matches.  Favoring the matches would improve its public results, but would
make it play less "interesting" for humans..
