Steve was always good at writing such articles. I have not seen any printed texts authored by him but they say he has one coming out so we'll see. Fritz PowerBook is my first source for researching openings. CB8 is second, [especially the games in Megabase2004 which are annotated by top GMs]. An opening book that huge might be too "wide" as a starting point for development of a tournament opening book for a chess-playing program. I don't know. It might take millions of games on ICC to pare it down to a good tournament weapon. All speculation, of course. I still like the idea of "creative" book learning instead of Hyatt's merciless "snip, snip, snip" variety. : ) Bob D.
