It used to be far more common for almost anyone with acomputer account to get
games on ICC (I"m going back 8 years or so).  As more folks became knowledgeable
about to set up the chess robot client, the quality of the operator started
going down.  There would be operators treating GM with total disrespect -
kibitzing snide comments like "gotcha" when the score jumped or "mate-in-xx"
annoucnements.  I was way from from it for a few years and when I came back --
the world had  changed - most top GM/IM simply do not play computer opponents
except for Crafty.  It a clear sign of respect for Bob Hyatt that the GM/IM's
still play Crafty as often as they do.
