And not all the programs have this option (CM6000). >I suggest the 1hour/game. OK, here's my comment on this issue: 1) In general, I like the idea. I have played only one tournament with a satisfyingly significant number of games (10 per matchup), and it took me more than 3 months to complete. :( 2) ICC/FICS is not an issue for me. I don't have a Windows machine at work and no Internet connection at home. Can't bring my PC to work (insurance problems), can't play long games online at home even if I had Internet connectivity there (even local phone calls are very expensive in Germany, compared to the U.S. situation). 3) Different hardware is not a major problem, I think. It may even be considered more interesting to have, say, a duel between Rebel 10 and Junior 5 where 5 games are played on 200 MHz and 5 games on 400 MHz machines. Even I do not have 400+ MHz machines available all the time, sadly. 4) Collecting the PGN/CBV archives played by me/Enrique/Didzis/Thorsten/etc. in one place is something I planned long time ago, but had too little time to realize it. Maybe we can have a "volunteer webmaster" who does just this while leaving the game-playing to the others. 5) PLaying 40/120 without autoplayer is really something no-one (except me :) actually does, so maybe a shorter time control really is appropriate (see 6). 6) One critical aspect may be time and coordination. I have my tournament schedule planned until late February already, and I don't know if my professional situation will permit to play any games after that time. At 60/game, it may still be possible for me to do this after work. Summing up, I have to say that I really hope this can be made possible (I will probably not be the only one who has some problems with the free time he has :). --- Shep
