Shredder 8 100.5/200 68 won 67 lost 65 drawn Fritz 8 99.5/200 67 won 68 lost 65 drawn So a difference of only +1 elo! Conditions: P4 2.4Ghz, 1 gig ram machine. 3/0 time control, 32 Mb hash, own books, write protected, learning off, 3-4-5 tbs on, versions of engines see title :) Comments: I was planning to run a 1000 game blitz test, but now changed my mind. The result is very close and there is absolutely no real difference between the two. Out of the games I observed the quality as expected is bad some moves were just silly. In about half the drawn positions one side had a large plus but could not convert it, usually Shredder. In more then 25% of won games the actual position was drawn, but with 5 sec left one side blundered and lost, also usually Shredder. I am running a game in 60min test at the same time and in that test Shredder 8 just like in Kurt's 5movebook tournament is winning with a >70% score (so far 67 games played). You can draw your own conclusions.
