I always do this when I form my ECO classified tables.  In fact, I throw out
lots of games that are *not* duplicates because they have the exact same PGN
sequence from start to end. [Especially often 1. d4*]

Indeed.  Both results are interesting, however, because they show different
strengths of a program.
