OK:  so, if a search on a KRPPKR position has a P hitting the penultimate rank,
I'd be bringing in KRPxKR - 4 EGTs.

That's still a lot of GB, but I'd like to have P-endgame EGTs stored by P-slice
anyway, so here I'd be bringing in only those slices for the remaining P on that
file (e.g. b/g) and at/downstream_of the root position.

That would reduce the I/O by a factor of ~8.
