Well, I can tell you Bob, that my newsgroups are very different. The discussion is intelligent and on-topic and there are many resources available such as game database downloads, and coverage of major events. I am a member of 11 newsgroups on chess alone, and felt there was a need for something different. Sorry to those who have recieved more than one invitation. The groups are new so I have been a bit aggressive at first to bring new people in. There are already 94 members in the Chess_Database_Discussion groups alone. I recommend to new members to select the "daily-digest" option for email preferences so that you don't get bombarded with too much email. Thx, Matthew
