I think we mostly agrees about Genius' style, but not about Karpov's style. Karpov at the peak of his career was not at all defensive, particulary not with the white pieces. Not taking extreme risks in every game is not the same as being defensive. The games are often very beautiful. The beauty is of the kind which often takes some hard work to appreciate, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. So please go ahead and bash Genius and Shredder as much as you want, I don't care. But please stop dissing Tarrasch and Karpov. :-) Tord
