Leaving out fancy frills is a good idea because content is king and the page loads faster. I had some ideas: make your text in the middle left justified, add 1 cell to the left of that text and one to the right - make these 2 cells 8%, don't set a size in pixels or percentage for the center cell so it defaults - it should adjust automatically for size, leave the fixed sizes that you have for both your menu and the Crafty version cell. Invisible frames for the tables of course. Also, center Crafty Homepage, left justify Home. Regarding the images that make the bottom of your left/right border cells: make the backgrounds clear while keeping the design the same. Should be able to do this with PaintShop Pro or similiar. This will allow these images to look right for people who view your site that use their own background color. I use a grey background for all sites because its easier on my eyes. You can still use whatever background color you like. It would be nice if you could go with a slightly off-white color to reduce the intensity. You may want to consider using a texture background. If you use a small graphic then it will load quickly. Layout is one of those things that you just keep chipping away at until it looks right. Like a sculpture. I like your use of tables to create the menu - it keeps the size right. Other than that, just keep adding cool things like lots of configuration tricks. :) I think a section on creating your own opening book from a pgn would be cool as well. Let me know if you want me to contribute I have made an Alekhine opening book to use with Crafty 19.10 SE Many thanks to Professor Hyatt and Mike Byrne for their efforts! Crafty with personalities is awesome! -matt
