The Rebel engine uses a subset of the WB1 protocol plus it has some extension to make it possible to configure various options from within the GUI and to provide richer engine information to the GUI. This is documented on the Lokasoft site http://www.lokasoft.nl/technical_articles It is possible to turn off some of the extensions by editing the rebel.ini file.
