These cases are only dangerous if at least they came into such splits without their own will. What I did is something a Hollywood actor does several times in a year. The punk wasn't a bad guy but he knew no respect for the primadonnas of CC. That led to CCC because several primadonnas had stopped talking in RGCC. NB a 23 y. old could upset businessmen of over 40 y. old! I think the Google archives are full of very satirical stunts in rec.games.chess.computer for instance the war declarations on a daily base, the threats to sue someone. To give just two examples. Honestly I had never any difficulties with such young kids who want to prove their strength and importance. The CCC is a good idea but the usenet could also be a place for such a strictly technological group without too much OFF Topics. But this wasn't even tried, because it would have shown that punks like me could never affect a rational debate about computerchess, where I am a real layman. In the other groups the political debates could have continued. In fact usenet is a technically easier place for such debates than such a webpage. But again CCC is state of the art. And CTF is here the group for political drivel. Although political debates are painful if they are moderated. Because how do you want to moderate drivel at all? Politically correct drivel? ;) The host Steven made it quite clear that political opinions, even prejudices are better expressed in freedom and then are criticised and refutated than being held back, prevented, in such intellectual groups. Two aspects, the extent of prejudices is known and the critic is added. Rolf
