Subject: How to Open the Game in FRC

Every FRC setup configuration dictates its own strategy and there are 960
different setup positions. It is true that in FRC there is no memorization of
Openings like in standard chess, but based on the number of setup positions 960
instead of one standard position the game is much more complicated. I found this
excellent article on two different FRC positions very instrutional.


PS: Can you imagine if some GM take the time to write an opening BOOK on the 960
different positions, and each position could have different Openings just like
in standard chess. For instance, in standard chess there is only one initial
position, and many openings; but for FRC there are 960 initial positions WOW. To
