To me, this is a fascinating subject, and very fundementally important.

But, how great is Shredder 8, according to this FRC list?

Does it mean much that Shredder is in first place?

Why?

Because Hiarcs 9 is known to be only mediocre, and even H9 comes very close, and
could have been top.
OK, so let's say that Hiarcs is especially strong in FRC, more than in normal
chess. But the Fritz is 8005! and that has long been known to have been
considerably weaker than 8008.
Therefore, it would make sense to infer from all this, that Shredder is not much
stronger if at all, than its predescessor (even though against its predescessor
it got 68%, but it is obvious it would do well against that).

Actually, talking of offending people in this forum (and CTF), I would wonder if
posts like this are considered offensive. Just because freedom is given, might
not mean that the programmers and promoters of the program are so happy about
implied citiscicms in public.
But isn't this what the forum is for? Still, I was wondering if for them it's
"suffer in silence" but that they feel a grudge against posters of posts like
mine, above.
