AFAIK it's always the *Sonneborn-Berger* tiebreak rating, usually used for *full round robin* tournaments (only). For the S-B rating of a player, 100% of the points of the opponents he has won against, and 50% of the points of the opponents he has drawn against, are sumed up. By that, the ranking of players whow have the same score, can be determined. In CB 7.0 and in Fritz, I don't see the Buchholz rating which is used for *swiss* tournaments... but it seems, that the tables are sorted by that, IOW it looks as if Buchholz ratings are used "internally." I'm not sure about that. If you switch a swiss table to a round robin table using the "RR" button, S-B ratings are added, but that may give a different ranking than the original one! For the Buchholz ratings, simply all points of all opponents are sumed up. (I think there are more tiebreak ratings variants, but I don't know more.) Regards, M.Scheidl
