no the answer is simple. Every P4 Ghz (Northwood or Prescott makes no
difference) performs as fast as 0.7 GHz of an Athlon XP for chess and probably
as fast as 0.6 GHz of an Athlon 64 (but there are not enough numbers yet to be
sure). So do the math yourself, which P4 is equal in chess performance to an
Athlon XP or Athlon 64.

HT adds only little performance for chess engines.
