It's not that simple. Intel and AMD have taken different design paths. Intel was caught off guard by the AMD Athlon processor. And had to go the way of the megahurtz. The analogy would be a race where AMD has the long legged and powerful stride. While Intel's short legs must work at a much higher frequency to keep up. And the heat issue is really a non issue. AMD chips are designed to operate at higher temperatures. And additionally the P4 is running hotter. It dissipates a hell of a lot of watts. MvH Dan Andersson
