Subject: Arguments about CM6000 sometimes pointless.

Recently there has been alot of discussion about CM6000 and whether it is good
for a strong player etc.. What I have seen from this discussion is that there
are some overlooked features maybe in CM6k that I am not seeing. Reynolds takata
said something about using Cm6k to prepare for an opponent.. I have no idea how
to do what he said in CM6k (I have cm5k-cm6k and fritz5) I am completely
confused with the database functions.. YES its engine is VERY STRONG. But the
database functions (very important stuff in my opinion) are practically nil
(though much improved). One nice training feature (the ability to create books
to prepare for an opponent or an opening in Fritz.) is not in CM6k. Also THERE
IS NO SUPPORT FOR VARIATIONS in cm6k .. something this simple is overlooked. If
CM or whoever owns "The King 3.0" would be able to have it be used as an
analysis engine inside CM6k where you can have it while you look at a game that
would be a VERY improved feature.. To put text commentary in the game and then
port it to pgn doesn't work. This is unconvenient. I want to know WHAT you can
do with the ENGINE if you can't analyse as well.. there are no variaitons
supported etc.. except play a game vs the program.??? If I want a strong
opponent I'll just fire up Crafty and play against in on winboard. Please shed
light on how I can get more out of cm6k.
