The only info I recall is that the fx51 supposedly uses a 128 bit bus, while the opteron uses 256 bits. That is potentially 2x. I would not bet a lot of money on that point however, as I have not studied the fx51 at all, while I have looked at the Opteron in some detail since I was using it recently...
