It depends on the rules of the tournament.

It is legal to use  computers or ask friends for help in the corresppondence
chess of Israel because there is no low against it

I use Junior5 in the championship of Israel and most of the moves are the moves
of Junior5 after some hours of analyzing.

In 2 games all of the moves out of the opening were the moves of Junior5.

Junior5 won one of them and  is going to win the second game(Junior5's
evaluation in the second game is more then 5 pawns advantage for me)

I know that using computers is legal in international competitions

The only case when I know that it is not legal to use computers(not as a
database) is  in the chamionship of U.S.A
