Hi: Of course any program can be used for preparations, but surely some are better than other to THAT goal. Respect to clasify them as GM, that throw all of us in an even worst discussion over the issue. I think anb objetive, non biased clasification coudl be: a) Professional program, with complete DB functions for satisfy even Gary. b) Serious chess player program, with maybe not so good DB, but decent enough in that respect and of course a very strong engine. CM6K, by example c) mass market program, with a relatively weak or obsolete engine and features for fun, like Battle chess, maniac, etc. d) just bad programs, buggy programs, shit programs like Grand Master Ultra. fernando
