thanks again. i went to this website and am downloading an enormous pgn file to possibly make an opening book. http://www.chesslib.no/download.htm the file is over 200mb. i also see there are four 6mb "large" pgn files for crafty opening book which would work for bookthinker too i think. http://custom.lab.unb.br/pub/chess/crafty/common/large/ there is lots here too ftp://ftp.cis.uab.edu/pub/hyatt/ thanks all
