i have mentioned here the details of my new system already and posted shredder
and fritz benchmaarks. you can use the CCC search engine to find them.
Briefly : cpu= Opteron 146 clocked at 2ghz (cost $390 US oem)
mob= leadtek dual lan with NForce3 150pro chipset (cost $180 US)
psu= antec 480watts 'true blue' (cost $86 US)
various cooling fans including thermaltake venus for opteron and
2 x 120 casefans (1 in, 1 out) and active cooling for a raptor
SATA drive in an external bay.
ram= 2x 512k ECC 333DDR registered in dual channel
multiple harddrives, agp pro graphics card
regarding linux performance, seems nice and fast. really quick bootstrap times.
I am still getting used to it so I am no expert to report detailed particulars
as of yet. after i compile crafty and get ome machine specific benchmarks, i
will be pleased to report them here, Hristo.
