I've tried the 5.0.1 compiler vs 6, 7.1, and 8. 5.0.1 is the fastest for me.. with 8 being the slowest. Sort of fits the trend for Intels latest processors eh? :) Prescott (new P4) is something like 20% slower MHz for MHz than the old P4 (Northwood) @ chess.
