Subject: Strange - What happened in this game Thinker vs. Yace?

Author: Axel Schumacher

Date: 21:53:34 02/17/04

I just tried the new Thinker against Yace, with a shortbook for both activated
(Fritz-GUI). Thinker and Yace obviously used their own book (O.K., they can be
deleted or emptied), however:
a.) Why does Yace play these moves?
and
b.) Both engines play, with a small interruption, from start to the mate at the
end only out of a book ?
I have never seen anything like that.
The game took about 20 seconds to the mate.
