I am the opposite. The only chess books that I can easily read and understand
are the Sierawan books and Bobby Fischer's book. Most of those old ones that
use pre-PGN notation give me a royal headache. I can't visualize what is going
on and I have to slowly play through each move to understand what they are
talking about.

I read technical books and articles by the bushel basket. Especially articles
about algorithms.
