Your subject is not very fair. Hydra played obviously without a big opening book. It was out of book at move 2. The line is covered in all commercial books. I just checked what Crafty 19.10 would play after 1.d4 Nf6 2.c3 e6 3.Bg5 without it's book. It would also play h6,g5,Ne4 at various blitz and rapid time controls. The result of these inferior moves is a clearly better position for white. More intersting is the evaluation. Hydra thought black is OK when in fact black was positional already lost. Btw, did the human opponent play with or without analysis engine? Michael
