Chessmaster 9000 doesn't access the tablebases until only 5 pieces remain on the
board. This has undoubtedly cost it a few games.
I could be wrong, but I  think El Chinito is the same.

I am using the Fritz powerbook with a minimum of 4 games for the move to be
played and with maximum variety. I wanted some interesting games.
I've often thought of running a tourney without opening books or tablebases, but
I'm not interested in doing this at present.
