if you want to program checkers, i recommend my site (cough):
www.fierz.ch/checkers.htm
you will find some articles on programming, a checkers interface (checkerboard),
and a simple checkers program ("simple checkers") written in C which compiles to
a dll which runs under that interface. it might be a starting point to play
around with checkers programming.
