You are assuming that he has an illegal copy when in fact it might be a case of he just has to refuel the engine with the proper cd. I had the same problem when using the UCI engine under the ChessPartner interface, but it went away once I put the cd in again. Since then I have not had the same problem. Shredder has one of the best copy protections known, and is great to prevent piracy. Sometimes it also prevents legal users from using the products. Don't always assume someone is using an illegal copy just because you are :) (Your reference to cracks is very obvious as you know what they contain) Peter.
