Has anyone else done this? I'm just getting started, and have fiddled with Selectivity and Style somewhat. The default Selectivity is -1, and I've tried -3 (the smallest possible), -2, and 0. Insofar as I can tell, -2 and -3 are identical. Also, there is some difference between them and -1, but not a lot. However there is a significant difference between the minus numbers and 0. In the latter case the second number in ply level designations is significantly smaller. For example if you were getting 18/48 with -3 -2 -1 Selectivities, it might be 19/33 when run for the same time with a Selectivity of 0. My feeling is that the -2 -3 Selectivities might be an improvement when running in infinite analysis mode to analyze a position for a long time (several hours), presumably not overlooking any zugzwang type situtations, etc. Is that proper logic? I've only tried the default Intelligent and Solid styles, the two extremes, and there is a very big difference. I can't imagine anyone using the Solid style because it's very slow and goes much less deep in ply levels in the same time. I'm not sure why the difference or what causes it. WP
