Extrapolating from what appears to be true about chess engines in general, this setting will avoid overlooking zugzwang, etc. There is no known information published anywhere about Shredder's engine parameters - is there? It amazes me that this info isn't given on the Shredder CD or in the GUI's Help menu, which mostly talks about outdated Fritz versions?! Arghh... WP
