Its nice to see other newbies on this Board. I was reading an older post on here (I forget who posted it now) about getting started. It came down to this... Get your board, pieces, movement done and tested. Have it where its human-human where you have to manually move both sides. make sure you can never end up in an illegal position, etc.. once thats down and correct, get working on the 'brain'. I've ordered the Deitel 'Learing C++' book from Amazon and am going to give that a shot. While I'm waiting on that, I'm looking at FirstChess, TSCP and some articles on Min-Max/AlphaBeta (MTD(f) and Negascout). Hopefully by 2016 I can post something on here for you to see. :)
