I've experimented a little bit with the Selectivity and Style settings in
Shredder 8 using the native CB GUI:

For some reason I get the idea that Selectivity=-3 is an improvement when
analyzing in infinite analysis mode for a long time, but I don't have any proof.
In theory it should avoid missing any moves because of Zugzwang, I suppose, but
there is a dearth of information from the author/publisher in that regard. So
I'm just guessing, and hoping. I might try Selectivity=0 if I were playing blitz
chess, but I never play blitz. I haven't tried the +values for Selectivity.

I doubt that any of the alternate style settings has any value, and will
probably always use "intelligent" for any purpose.
