Hi there,

it seems that Ruffian 2.0.2 can bet Shredder ...
I test the new versions from Per-Ola with 40 / 20 on different system.

Ruffian 2.1.0 losed with 11.5 : 28.5 ...
See my other messages. Games, log files and so on can be found in Arena Support
Forum.

Version 2.0.2 looks like great ...
First results ...

Pentium IV 2.67 Mobile Notebook:
40 moves in 20 minutes, ponder = off, Arena 1.0.4, 128Mb hash, 4tb Nalimov with
4Mb Cache
Ruffian 2.0.2 - Shredder 8.0, 6.0 : 4.0 (game 11 / 20 seems to be remis).

Xeon 2.8 GHz Dual System:
40 moves in 20 minutes, ponder = on, Arena 1.0.4, 256Mb hash, 5tb Nalimov with
64Mb Cache
Ruffian 2.0.2 - Shredder 8.0, 2.5 : 1.4 (game 05 / 20 is still running, very
interesting all is possible).

I am sure not an 11.5 : 28.5 compare to version 2.1.0 vs. Shredder 8.0.

After this matches I will try the version with 40 moves in 10 minutes and 40
moves in 5 minutes. For 40 moves in 40 minutes or hight I have not enough time
(Patriot Beta Test is still running). But absolutly clear that Ruffian 2.0.2 is
stronger with longer time controls after my positions test.

Great work by Per-Ola.
I play with the UCI version of Ruffian. With the WB version of Ruffian are my
results all the time very good but it's possible that WB Ruffian 2.0.2 is
stronger too.

All is not sure, because I have not enough games.
But if I look in the games my feeling for version 2.0.2 is very good.
The playing style is much better as from Ruffian 2.1.0.

The customers can test booth version of Ruffian self.

Best
Frank
