The story goes on... I repeated the experiment with Deep Sjeng and HT off under
the CB GUI and, voila, it did find the winning move, 1...Ncx3, but only  much
later than under its native GUI (Lokasoft 16 seconds; CB GUI 42 seconds)(128 MB
hash):
