In general, I very much agree with Bas. I use Arena all the time
and I am very glad that I can see the table of results during
the tournament, just to mention one nice point.
However, in the following position, List, installed as a WinBoard engine and
playing White, claimed a draw due to insufficient
material, and Arena agreed, although Queen
(installed as a UCI engine and playing Black)
had rightly indicated that it could win:
8/8/4K3/8/2p1k2N/8/8/8 b - - 0 60
This problem also occurred in some other games between
List and Queen, and it occurred also in a previous
Arena version. I reported this in the Arena forum
but the bug was not fixed. When an engine makes an incorrect
draw claim, Arena should not grant it, in my opinion.
