Hi Uri, > ICC was never meant to be a serious rating and I treat the numbers there as > meaningless. well, not totally meaningless - but you are right that there is a variaty... e.g. Quarks rating goes +/- 200 all the time when I let it play for a week or so. Most of us know that e.g. usually the rating at weekends is higher then during the week - my simple reason for that is, that at weekends usually more humans play against the engines, during the week most games are against other silicon opponents. Anyway ICC is a great place: a) it gives you the chance to discuss live with other chess programmers (and even if it is about the weather it is great fun) b) you look at your engine closer then anywhere else (except OTB-tourneys like Paderborn, Leiden, WCCC etc) - especially the last thing does help me a lot. Nowhere else I did learn so much about my engine then at above mentioned tournaments and at ICC. Greets, Thomas
