Hello Geert! Maybe you know , after my posts in this forum and others , that I am fond of gambit play and brillancies So , my advice is not completely "impartial" but it is supported by my experience When running on a "mono" , Deep Fritz8 is not stronger than fritz8 and as it's more expensive.... Conversely , junior8 was weaker than junior7 to the point of tactical skill ( IMHO , J7 was the strongest tactical engine ; Ifyou are in doubt ,you can see a little part of its best games on criticalchess@yahoogroups.com ) I could test intensively junior8 , Deep Junior8 and its "clones" (or shall I say Beta versions ) Deep Junior8YY , And Deep Junior8ZX , that are on the same CD as Deep Junior8 On tactical openings DJ8 , and mostly DJ8ZX are significantly stronger than J8 , with a style reminiscent of junior7 Maybe , Dj8YY is stronger on positional openings , but , as I am not a fan of QGD..... Then , My advice is to buy the CD of DeepJunior8 , and use chiefly DJ8ZX Friendly Yours Claude Le Page
