Right now at gcc list they are busy with finding a name for the intel x86-64 processsor line, so when that's finished i expect better and better results from gcc too. You should be more objective in testing. www.aceshardware.com to see how fast the A64 is in 32 bits for DIEP. it's 50% faster than a K7, but your speeds of crafty in 32 bits are really prehistoric. Why are you testing it so subjectively?
