And I thought you were against capitalism. :) Having a choice is fine, but the real problem is that people who upgrade to new versions normally expect the engine to play stronger. If that expectation is not met, then they become disappointed. It is a choice to upgrade or not (whether free or at a price), but it does take some cost, even if only the user's time. Hopefully the programmer has already tested the version and gives truthful & accurate info about the new version to guide the potential user or purchaser for whom time and money are important. Prudent users should wait until other users have upgraded and run some comparison tests--to see if the new version performs as advertised. Take care, --Steve
