Yes, Scid will look up tablebase positions also if no analyse engine is
installed. You only have to specify the tablebase directory.
Then you can open up the endgame tablebase window which will look like this:

With the board icon you can then access the board position (rights side).
Or, on the left side, you can see statistics or play some training with various
tablebase endgame positions.

I don't know if scid supports 6-man tablebases (because I don't have any).
