I again must agree with Reynolds, KK.

As I mentioned in a post on RGCC, you must be careful when you assume that
everyone uses a program the same way that you do. I'm a USCF Life Master. My
best friend is another USCF Life Master. Neither of us uses an opening book
editior. Neither of us uses a program to do live positional analysis as we play
through a game. We both have several programs that do different things.

He has Extreme and CM6K analyse games that he has played. I use the database
features and 'personality' settings of CM6K frequently.

Neither of the shortcomings that you mentioned in the your previous post are of
*any* concern to me. Your 'absolutely essential' is my 'trivial'.

While many players, I'm sure, do use an opening book editor, I would bet that a
sizeable majority of tournament players don't. *Nobody* that I know in person
does.

Many don't use their chess program to analyse positions 'live' as you mentioned,
too. Many just want a very strong, customizeable program to work out against.
CM6K fits the bill perfectly.

I believe that CM6K is a very useful tool for serious tournament players. It is
for me. It is for my friend. It appears to be for Reynolds. That's three USCF
Life Masters (including 1 FM). That's some pretty serious horsepower to call
'non-serious'.
