No neither I nor some amateurs from your uni.
Isn't such divide and conquer feature not available in Swiss-System programs,
doesn't matter whether you call it accelerated or delayed?

Maybe the Computer Science Departure of the Bar-Ilan University has some
ressources to develope such a sophisticated pairing program in a few month and
collecting some experiences ;-)

I see, iirc we had accelerated Swiss System in Paris 97, first three rounds with
one disjoint strong and weak group and then mixing all together. I'm not sure
whether it was all hand paired by Jaap, maybe only the first rounds...

No both groups should be equally strong as i suggested by some initial rating
based on past events:
1,4,5,8...
2,3,6,7...
or
1,3,5,7...
2,4,6,8...

It was the argument to introduce the knock out system.

I can live without that, but i thought it is probably a nice feature to delay
some decisive games to later rounds with 16 <= nParticipants < 12 and 11 rounds.

Cheers,
Gerd
