Thanks very much for the F11, Insert, and other tips...

I have now answered my own question regarding the strange analyses of Shredder
8. They still exist with the Classic GUI, same as with the CB GUI.

And I beg to differ on that point... I consider it a full-fledged "bug" because
it makes the Shredder 8 engine worthless for analysis. Just the first move
cannot be called an analysis. Many like me do not have any interest in playing
chess with a computer, and only use it as an assistant in analysis.

Selecting the best move is important, but we also want the best possible
analysis in infinite analysis mode and/or deep position analysis. We do not care
if the engine is a little slower in order to obtain the best analysis.

Surely that could be an user option to select a "best analysis" mode, perhaps as
an optional engine parameter. I would strongly suggest it as an important
improvement for Shredder. Otherwise I will definitely not buy any future
versions of the Shredder engine. I purchased the 7 and 8 versions, but no more -
unless this bug is fixed!
